What is Thermography?
Thermography is a non-invasive, diagnostic tool that takes digital images of the body which are sent to a board of Thermography trained Doctors to analyse patterns and changes in the skin’s surface temperature.
This test of function relies on the sympathetic nerve control of skin blood flow and the ability of the sympathetic system to respond and react to pathology anywhere in the body. In simple terms, this test can indicate where there are inflammatory conditions in the body and show up early signs of abnormal cell development.
Many medical tests are of anatomy such as X-rays, ultrasound, and mammography. These tests show us the structure of the body. There are few tests available that are tests of ‘function’ ie what is going on at a cellular level. Tests of anatomy will miss such things as active inflammation and increased blood supply as found in many illnesses. Thermography is a unique technology that takes a picture and creates a map of the infrared patterns of the body. It is different from other screening tools because it helps you to see how your body functions.
